Hrvoje Jugović – fortepiano
Vienna-based pianist Hrvoje Jugović was born in Zagreb. After obtaining B. M. in piano performance in both Zagreb and Vienna, he studied fortepiano master classes with Malcolm Bilson at Cornell University (NY, USA) and Belgium.
In 2005 he was nominated for the Austrian Klassik Amadeus Award. In 2013 his Mendelssohn Piano Trios CD was selected as CD of the month by Musicweb International (UK). Hrvoje Jugovic performs as a soloist and with chamber music groups on historic pianos with repertoire focused on music of the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. During the last years, he performed in festivals such as the Haydn Festival Eisenstadt, Mozart Festival Augsburg, Settimana Mozartiana Chieti, Varazdin Baroque Festival, Dubrovnik Summer Festival, Zagreb Baroque Festival, at the opening ceremony of the major Albertina exhibition MOZART 2006 in the Vienna Hofburg. He has also performed in Dubai and Sharjah (United Arab Emirates) and also as soloist with the Capella Istropolitana (Bratislava) and the Croatian Chamber Orchestra. Current projects include concerts and recordings with guitarist Edin Karamazov (piano and guitar duos) and fortepianist Michael Tsalka (fortepiano music for four-hands).
Hrvoje Jugovic has recorded CDs for Brilliant Classics (Complete Piano Trios by Felix Mendelssohn and Fanny Hensel Mendelssohn), Gramola (Mozart Piano Concertos no. 12, 13 & 14 and Pleyel Piano Trios), Aulos (Vanhal Piano Concerto) and Radio & TV recordings for ORF, Radio Stephansdom (Austria), NDR (Germany), HRT (Croatia) and for Romanian TV.
