Barocco Nuevo bestaat uit de Russische Alexey Filimonov (piano) en de Deense Jonas Skielboe (gitaar). Het duo treedt drie maal in Nederland op:

– zondag 7 juni in Museum Geelvinck in Amsterdam

– dinsdag 9 juni in Kasteel Heeswijk in Heeswijk Dinther

– vrijdag 12 juni in het nieuwe Cultureel Centrum ‘de Heerd’ in Heerde (Gld.)

Bach en Flamenco

Het is moeilijk voorstelbaar dat Bach ooit in een andere omgeving dan een 18e eeuwse kerk heeft gecomponeerd.

Maar wat componist/pianist Alexey Filimonov en gitarist/arrangeur Jonas Skielboe als duo toch hebben gedaan, is de grote Duitse meester verplaatsen naar het hart van Spanje met zijn levendige flamencotraditie.

Door te luisteren naar Bach’s meest geliefde melodieën en harmonieën in deze fraaie bewerkingen voor piano en flamencogitaar, zien we Bach opeens met zijn gepoederde pruik door de straten van Sevilla of Granada lopen.

Als luisteraar komen we door toccata’s in vurige rasgueado techniek en menuetten vol syncopen, terecht in een nieuwe muzikale wereld waarin twee geliefde muzikale tradities voor het eerst worden samengebracht. Het superieure vakmanschap vol inspiratie van Filimonov en Skielboe zorgt voor een onvergetelijke muzikale reis, met zowel bekende als adembenemend nieuwe vergezichten.

In 2014 begonnen pianist/componist Alexey Filimonov en gitarist/arrangeur Jonas Skielboe in Wenen met het opzetten en opnemen van het project “Bachinianas”. Cultuur- en landsgrenzenoverschrijdend, en gedreven door hun passie en drang een nieuw geluid te laten horen in het hedendaagse concertleven.

Alexey Filimonov – Piano / Composer

Internationally acclaimed pianist, Alexey Filimonov has enchanted audiences throughout Europe and North America with his original interpretations of classical masterpieces, including captivating new arrangements of music by Bach, Brahms, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Scriabin and others.
After graduating from the Russian Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow (under prof. I. Brill), Alexey has gone on to perform in numerous Russian and international music festivals. He has shared the stage with the acclaimed jazz saxophonist Igor Butman as well as many other great musicians, both in Russia and abroad.
Although Alexey is mostly known for his unique interpretations of classical masterpieces, he has also been awarded top prizes in several international jazz competitions. In 2001, 2002 and 2003, Alexey was selected as one of the top four pianists in the Montreux Jazz Piano Solo competitions in Switzerland. After receiving second prize in 6eme Concours International de Soliste de Jazz in Monaco in 2004, he won the competition at the 26 International Jazz Hoeilaart Contest in Belgium. Today, Alexey feels equally comfortable interpreting classical masterpieces and performing with talented jazz musicians.

Jonas Skielboe – Guitar

Danish guitarist Jonas Skielboe is quickly establishing himself as one of Europe’s most exciting and versatile guitarist. After studying with internationally recognized professors in Denmark, Switzerland, Spain and Holland, Jonas has gone on to enjoy a busy career all over Europe. In addition to his solo career, Jonas is a highly sought after chamber musician and has collaborated with some of the most exciting new ensembles and singers in Europe today.

Although Jonas is mostly known for his performances in various styles of classical music, he has always been attracted by the possibilities the guitar offers in other styles, venturing on to play flamenco, jazz, and early music.

For the past several years, Jonas has devoted a large part of his time to a personal study of Spanish and Latin American music. He has collaborated with various singers and has performed in several festivals in Spain as well as coaching and giving master classes, most recently with the Project “Canción Española“ at the “Escuela superior de canto” in Madrid and the Barcelona Festival of Song.
Jonas currently lives in Vienna and performs all around Europe.
