Twee vriendinnen van het Moskous conservatorium, twee temperamentvolle musiciennes die elk hun eigen weg gingen en individueel hun sporen hebben verdiend. De één in Moskou als gevierd pianiste, laureaat van belangrijke internationale concours, de ander in Amsterdam, waar zij haar zangcarrière succesvol voortzette. Sinds vier jaar hebben ze elkaar op muzikaal gebied weer gevonden. Nu geven zij gezamenlijk concerten in heel Europa, zoals in Nederland, Rusland, Frankrijk en Duitsland. Eind dit jaar zal hun eerste cd verschijnen met werken van Russische componisten.

Programma Russische Gallery: De manier om kennis te maken met het rijke palet dat de Russische muziek biedt. Van Varlamov en Goeriljov tot Sjostakovitsj en natuurlijk met liederen van Glinka, Dargomyzjski, Tsjaikovski en met pianowerken van Rachmaninov en Skrjabin.

Anna Azernikova

Anna Azernikova was born in Moscow, Russia. She studied choir conducting at the Moscow Conservatory, simultaneously taking private singing lessons with Galina Koesnetsova. In 1996 she was awarded a degree from the Conservatory.

In 1992 Anna made her singing debut in Moscow. She has appeared in various well known concert halls in Russia, including the Big Hall of Moscow Conservatory and Moscow Filarmony. She performed in the Moscow premiere of Beethoven’s “Fantasie” with Evgeniy Kissin under the baton of Claudio Abbado.

Since 1997 Anna has resided in Holland. She studied singing at the Amsterdam Conservatory with Paula de Wit and baroque vocal music with Howard Crook and Peter Kooy. She took master classes with Margreet Honig, Claren McFadden and Max van Egmond. She graduated in 2003.

Anna has performed in Germany, France and various halls throughout Holland, including The Grand Hall in Vredenburg (Utrecht) and De Ijsbreker. Her concert with internationally acclaimed harpist Anna Verkholantseva was televised in Holland in 2001.

In April 2003 she sang the soprano solo of the worldpremeire of Dmitri Schostakovitsch’s music for the film “Odna” at the Theater aan de Parade (den Bosch). Following the premiere, she toured (March-April 2004) with the Basel Sinfonietta orchestre, presenting the same work in Switzerland and Germany. The German tv channels ZDF and Arte aired a recording of the concerts in December 2004.
