Varvara Manukyan – Piano: Schubert and the Apricot Tree, Sounds of Melancholy from East and West

Varvara Manukyan speelt een piano recital met als titel: ‘Schubert and the  Apricot Tree, Sounds of Melancholy from East and West’.

Met dit recital sluit Varvara Manukyan aan bij het initiatief van de beroemde pianist Vardan Mamikonyan:  ‘100 Concerts around the World  in Memoriam  of  Armenian Genocide Victims 1915′. The cyclus van 100 concerten wordt georganiseerd door PYUNIK all Armenian Foundation.

Varvara Manukyan

Varvara Manukyan was born in Yеrevan, Armenia, where at six she received her first Piano lessons. After moving to Moscow in 1991 she continued her piano studies at Gnessin College with Irina Naumova where she obtained her Teaching Diploma with Honors after graduation

The Interest towards Historical Performance and Historical Instruments became Varvara’s main goal at Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she studied clavichord, harpsichord and hammerklavier with Olga Martynova and Alexei Lubimov and graduated in 2003 as a Concert Artist with Diploma Honors Degree. She completed her studies as a postgraduate student in Moscow Tshaikovsky Conservatory as well as in Hochschule für Musik und Theater München in 2005 with Christine Schornsheim. In 2007 she received Concert Diploma in Munich and began her concert career there.

Varvara Manukyan has gained from the teaching of numerous other musicians during masterclasses with Ton Koopman, Davitt Moroney Andrea Marcon, Christopher Stembridge, as well as Trevor Pinnock Andreas Staier and Bart van Oort. She gives concerts as a solist and chamber music artist in Europe and Asia and was invited to participate at different international Musik Festivals such as: Early Music Antiquarium Moscow (Russ), the Sanssousi Festival (Ger), as well as the Schwarzwald Musikfestival (Ger) and Early Musik Festival in Latvia. In 2010 Varvara Manukyan had her debut at the Wiener Konzerthaus.

Varvara Manukyan is a member of Cuivillies-Trio and a harpsichordist of Bayerische Philharmonie.
