The candidate should apply not later than 15th June 2018 by sending a request to participate in the competition to the following e-mail address, including:
– download and completed the following application form and sign at the bottom:

– your biography: this is a CV or short resume describing education and experience
– a copy of your passport or other official identity document
– your portrait photograph for promotional use, free of copyrights
Please indicate on the application form if you intend to use the option to participate in the Geelvinck Square Piano Competition 2018 on 12th July 2018 as well.

If you do not have yet all additional documentation material ready, first e-mail us the application form and e-mail the additional information later, but not later then 30th June 2018.
In case you solely wish to apply for the Geelvinck Fortepiano Competition 2019 ‘The Early Fortepiano’ and/or the Geelvinck Square Piano Competition 2019, please check this website in January 2019.
For the full Geelvinck Fortepiano Competition 2018 – 2019, you do not have to apply separately: if you become one of the finalists of either the Geelvinck Fortepiano Competition 2018 ‘The Romantic Fortepiano’, or the Geelvinck Fortepiano Competition 2019 ‘The Early Fortepiano’, or both, you are automatically accepted for the finals in August 2019.

After you have e-mailed the application form, you will receive a statement of registration from us within a few days. Stay
We can provide volunteer accommodation to stay in Zutphen. This is free of charge at a private home. Please let us know, if you wish us to arrange this for you.
Travel costs
In case the candidate is a conservatory student living abroad from the Benelux and he or she has no financial means to travel to the Netherlands, it is possible to apply for a (partial) refund of the travel costs. Applications for a (partial) refund will be examined by the festival organizations on a case-by-case basis.
Visa support
Obtaining appropriate travel documents, visa and insurance is the sole responsibility of the candidate. The candidate may apply with the festival organization for a letter of visa support. The festival organization will examine requests for visa support on a case-by-case basis.
If the costs for applying for a visa are too high for you, please let us know and we will consider the possibility of refunding it to you.
Meet & Greet – Monday 9th July 2018
On Monday late afternoon, there will be a meet and greet for the candidates. It is strongly suggested that the candidates attend this introduction with his or her fellow candidates.
We strongly recommend the candidates to rehearse on the historic instruments in advance. Please let us know, when you expect to arrive in Zutphen.
Recordings, images and copy rights
By submitting the application, the participant agrees that he or she will keep to the rules and regulations of the competition and the Laws of the Netherlands. He or she also agrees that the festival organization obtains free of charge or any copyright obligations recordings and photographs (images) of him or her (including and especially from his or her performances) within the festival and its competitions, and that the festival organization is free to use these recordings and photographs (images) without having to obtain permission from the participant or to have any obligation to pay the participant for any copy or author rights.
Liability
The festival organization does not accept any liability whatsoever for any damage, loss, harm, illness, or injury suffered by the participant, or those who accompany him or her. Medical costs, of whatever nature, are not reimbursed by the festival organization.
The festival organization and host families where candidates are staying, shall not be held responsible for accidents or damage of any kind, which may befall upon the candidate and/or those who accompany him or her, except in case it de facto falls under a third party insurance of the party involved.

The festival organisation (Museum Geelvinck / Geelvinck Hinlopen Huis Stichting) is officially located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The organisation is member of the Amsterdam Festival Overleg (under ACI) and REMA. The festival received the European quality label EFFE 2017-2018.
The festival organization keeps all rights reserved. Dates, locations and regulations can be subject to change. The Law of the Netherlands apply. In case of any dispute, solely the Court of Law in Amsterdam decides.
