Carla Genchi – sopraan

Carla Genchi (Italy) graduated in Singing at Monopoli Conservatoire N. Rota in 2007. She studied chamber music and lieder at Voralberger Konservatorium in Austria under the guidance of Prof. Mag. Dora Kutschi. Later she studied at the Utrechtse Conservatory, where she achieved the Master degree in Composition. She also achieved a first cycle master in improvisation and new composition techniques where she studied with the most relevant names concerning this panorama(Markus Stockhausen, Carlos Zingaro, Ken Parker…) 

Distinguished in several musical concourses in Italy both as chamber musician both as soloist, she performs both as a classical singer  and as a contemporary singer and improviser.

She performed, for several festivals for improvised music such as SOTU Festival (Amsterdam), Oorsprong Curator Series, Sant’Anna Arresi Theatre (IT) , het Utrechtse Theater Festival and she has been selected for participating in the Codarts Summer concerts (2009) and Graz ImpulsAcademie (2011) as a solo singer.

She obtained a scolarship from Monopoli Conservatory to study  with Lauren Newton in Berlin and she also hold some lectures concerning her pieces at Dresden Hellrau (2011). 

She also obtained a degree in musical critique (Rome 2007) and a degree in Slavic Philology (2005). Nowadays she is assistant at the ArtEZ conservatoire for new composition techniques. 

 

In de Geelvinck Salon van 9 februari 2014 treedt Carla Genchi op in een Liederprogramma, samen met fortepianiste Tullia Melandri.
