Ere Lievonen – fortepiano
Ere Lievonen is a harpsichordist, fortepianist, pianist and organist. He is specialized in historical performance practice as well as in contemporary music – especially contemporary music on harpsichord and other period instruments – and he has performed on numerous contemporary and early music festivals in several European countries and the USA.
He has studied in Finland and the Netherlands with Jacques van Oortmerssen, Miklós Spányi, Jacques Ogg en Annelie de Man, among others. After receiving his harpsichord and organ diplomas he studied fortepiano with Bart van Oort at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where he obtained his Master’s diploma fortepiano in 2011.
Besides giving solo concerts, Ere Lievonen is an active chamber musician. He plays with his own ensemble ’Salon Eusebius’, as well as in other ensembles, such as the baroque ensembles ALGO and ’Beauty and the Beasts’, and the contemporary music ensembles Hexnut and Scala. He is a founding member of Ensemble Ambrosius, a Finnish ensemble that plays contemporary music on baroque instruments. Since 2009, he is the organist of the unique microtonal ’Fokker’ organ at the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ in Amsterdam.
Ere Lievonen is also active as a composer, and his compositions have been performed in several European countries, Australia and Thailand.
