Paweł Motyczyński
He began his musical education at the age of eight. His first teachers were mgr Lidia Marek and mgr Krystyna Moszyńska. In year 2013 he graduated with distinction from the Academy of Music in Cracow in the class of Mirosław Herbowski Ph.D.
He has taken part in master classes conducted by Katarzyna Popowa‑Zydroń, Joaquin Achucarro, Dimitrij Alexeev, Paul Badura-Skoda, Philippe Giusiano, Andrzej Jasiński, Gyorgy Nador, Adam Wibrowski and John Perry, among others.
He is a laureate of many national and international piano competitions, such as: International Young Pianist Competition “Arthur Rubinstein in memoriam”, “Young Scene” at the Polish Piano Festival, National Festival “Talents Week”, Chopin Halina & Ludwik Sefański Piano Tournament, National F. Chopin Piano Competition organized by the Frederic Chopin Institute and Concorso Internazionale di Esecuzione Musicale “Giovani Musicisti”.
He leads an active concert life, presenting a wide repertoire on recitals in Poland and abroad. He gave concerts in festivals: “Wawel at Dusk” (Cracow), “Piano Plage” (Ouisterham, France), „Over the Clouds” (Wiener Neustadt, Austria), International Chopin Piano Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój. Furthermore he has given concerts in such places as the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Chopin Museum in Warsaw, the birth place of Fryderyk Chopin in Żelazowa Wola, “Atma” villa (Karol Szymanowski museum) in Zakopane, Cracow Philharmonic, and abroad – in Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, Ukraine and Finland.
In 2010-2011 he participated in the European Piano Program “Piano: Reflection of the European Culture”, the sessions of which were held in Austria, France, Macedonia, Moldova and Poland.
He has received fellowships from the Polish Children’s Fund, as well asfrom Little Poland Scholarship Foundation “Sapere Auso”, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and the Minister of Science and Higher Education.
