Two years ago I played with Maria for the first time. We worked on the sonatina in D major by F. Schubert. Since that moment we dreamed about performing his other works for violin and fortepiano. And we are extremely happy to have a chance to perform some of his greatest works Sunday 11 January in Geelvinck Museum! …

 

Musici: 

Alexandra Nepomnyashchaya – fortepiano

Alexandra Nepomnyashchaya was born in 1986 in Moscow.

At the age of 4 she began to study at the Moscow Gnessin Special Music School with Prof.L. Grigoryeva and Prof.I. Alterman on piano and Prof.O. Martynova on harpsichord.

In 2004 she became a student of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she studied harpsichord and fortepiano with Prof. O. Martynova and organ with Prof.A. Shmitov.

In June 2013 Alexandra graduated the Master Degree at the Amsterdam Conservatory with Prof. Menno van Delft and Prof. Richard Egarr.

Since October 2013 she is studying Zertifikatstudium Meisterklasse with Prof. Christine Schornsheim at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in München.

She had a chance to work and play for such a musicians as T. Pinnock, B. van Asperen, D. Morroni, M. Bilson, B.van Oort, A. Staier, C. Schornsheim.

In February 2010 Alexandra won the 1st prize at the Volkonsky International Harpsichord Competition in Moscow. She is also a laureat of the Austria Barock Akademie in 2005 (1st prize), the Harpsichord competition in Saint-Petersburg in 2007 (1st prize), the Organ competition in Moscow in 2007 (3rd prize), the “A Tre” Chamber Music competition in Trossingen in Germany in 2009 (3rd prize).

In 2009 Caro Mitis label released her debut CD featuring Mozart sonatas for piano and violin; she made the recording on a replica of a period fortepiano with violinist Sergei Filchenko.

Alexandra performs as a soloist and a chamber musician in Russia (Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Nizhniy Novgorod Philharmony Concert Halls) and Europe (Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Den Bosch Toonzaal, Centre Baroque de Versailles, Musee des Beaux-Arts de Tours, Renaissance Library of Florence, Utrecht Early Music Festival, Paris Atelier von Nagel, Chateau de Pommard, Prague Spring International Festival).

She has also performed in Hong Kong Arts Festival.

In May 2012 Alexandra won the 1st prize and special prizes at the Prague Spring International Music Competition.

 

Maria Kouznetsova – viool

Born in 1991 in Russia, in a family of musicians, Maria Kouznetsova started playing the violin aged four and a year later gave her first public performance. She studied with Vladimir Bobylyov in her native city, Igor Volochine and Boris Garlitsky in Paris, Pavel Vernikov and Oleksandr Semchuk in Italy, before joining the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium, under Augustin Dumay. She is currently a student of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, under M. Ilya Grubert.

Maria has performed concerts in various festivals and venues, such as the Incontri Musicali of the Fondazione William Walton e La Mortella in Ischia, the International Oleg Kagan Music Fest in Kreuth, Estate Fiesolana, Estate Musicale of Portogruaro, Rome Chamber Music Festival, MusicAmuseo in Ancona, Aosta Classica Festival, Aurora Chamber Music Festival, Internationaal Kamermuziekfestival Schiermonnikoog.

She is a prizewinner of several competitions, such as the Young Violinist’s Competition of Canet-en-Roussillon (1st prize ex-aequo), “Andrea Postacchini” International Competition in Fermo (2nd prize), National Contests “Luigi Nono” in Venaria Reale and “Nuovi Orizzonti” in Arezzo (1st prize), “David Oistrakh” International Competition in Moscow (2nd prize, 1st not awarded), Adriatico International Music Competition (1st prize, EMCY Art for Music prize).

Maria plays a violin made for her by Belgian luthier Fabien Gram, and a D.T. Navea Vera bow.
