On the program: 

Countertenor David Feldman (Israel), together with the Italian clarinetist Gaia Gaibazzi and the fortepianist Michael Tsalka (Israel) made a program consisting of both early and contemporary compositions. Michael Tsalka plays on a Zahler fortepiano from Moravia, c. 1805, and a Streicher fortepiano grand from Vienna, 1867. He is the artistic director of the Geelvinck Festival ‘Early Piano’. The program includes Bononcini (1670-1747), Mozart, Lachner (1803-1890), Schubert etc. And also a new composition by Joan Josep Gutierrez Yzquierdo. The composer from Barcelona will attend the concert in person.

De countertenor David Feldman (Israel) brengt samen met de Italiaanse klarinettiste Gaia Gaibazzi en de fortepianist Michael Tsalka (Israel) een programma met oude en eigentijdse werken. Michael Tsalka speelt op een Zahler fortepiano uit Moravië, c. 1805, en een Streicher fortepiano uit Wenen, 1867. Hij is artistiek leider van het Geelvinck Festival ‘Early Piano’. Op het programma staan onder meer Bononcini (1670-1747), Mozart, Lachner (1803-1890) en Schubert. En tevens wordt een nieuwe compositie van Joan Josep Gutierrez Yzquierdo uitgevoerd. Deze componist uit Barcelona zal zelf bij dit concert aanwezig zijn.

Michael Tsalka

Winner of multiple prizes and grants, acclaimed Dutch/Israeli early keyboard performer and pianist Michael Tsalka is a versatile musician, who performs solo and chamber music repertoire from the Baroque era to our days. After studies in Israel, Germany and Italy, he graduated in 2008 from Temple University (U.S.A) with a D.M.A. in Piano Performance and an M.M. in Early Keyboard Performance. Dr. Tsalka maintains a busy concert schedule, making presentations in Europe, the U.S.A., Canada, Asia, Russia, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America.

He has recorded more than twenty CDs for labels such as NAXOS/Grand Piano, Sheva Collection, Paladino, Brilliant Classics and Ljud & Bild. Dr. Tsalka has been the artistic director of festivals in Mainland China, Sweden and Finland.
